Daniel Murray letter of transfer, 29 November 1843.

This small collection consists of a single letter from Archbishop Daniel Murray to Bishop Benedict Joseph Flaget. The letter was written by the Archbishop's secretary, Joannes Hamilton, on the 29 November 1843 and deals with the transfer of Abraham MacMahon to Bishop Flaget's diocese.

Influential Roman Catholic Archbishop. Daniel Murray was born in county Wicklow, Ireland, on April 18, 1768. He attended university in Dublin and the Irish College in Salamanca, Spain. He was ordained in 1792, and served as a curate at Dublin and Arklow. In 1809, he became coadjutor bishop to John Thomas Troy, Archbishop of Dublin.
